George Oliver
Build Captain / Project Manager
Before entering the superyacht industry in 2012 at the age of 30, George built a varied career that included representing Great Britain in rowing, teaching sailing in Turkey, running his own personal training business, working for Mercedes-Benz, co-directing a supercar dealership, qualifying in construction management and surveying, and rowing across the Atlantic in record time. These experiences developed the adaptability, leadership and problem-solving skills he brings to every project.
Since joining the yachting industry, George has progressed through the ranks, qualifying as a Master in 2021 before taking command of his first yacht. Working primarily on 50 to 55-metre motor yachts, he has extensive experience managing private and commercial programmes, overseeing major refits, and delivering successful single- and dual-season operations. In 2024, George oversaw his first new build, a 50-metre Benetti that went on to receive industry awards and be recognised as one of the finest examples of the series built to date.
George brings a practical, detail-oriented approach to every project, balancing the client's vision with operational, technical and safety requirements. He is experienced in coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver yachts on time, within budget and to the highest standard.
George lives in the historic city of Bath with his wife and two children, where he enjoys long walks, photography, design, reading and keeping fit.
