Alexander Kaev, Head of Sales at Phoenix Yacht Management
Phoenix Yacht Management participated in the second edition of the Bodrum Boat Show, held from 14 to 18 October 2026 at Bodrum Port, Turkey.
Following the show, Alex Kaev, Head of Sales at Phoenix, shared his perspective on the event: “It exceeded my expectations, both in terms of scale and the range of exhibitors. For a relatively young event, it offered an interesting perspective on the strength and diversity of Turkey’s yachting industry.”
Here are four observations that stood out during the exhibition:
A strong professional presence
The show brought together an extensive cross-section of the industry, including yacht Owners, prospective buyers, international brokerage houses, local dealers, shipyards, charter companies, designers, marinas and marine equipment suppliers. This diversity gave the exhibition a distinctly professional character, with valuable opportunities to establish contacts across different sectors of the market.
An impressive range of yachts and builders
The variety of yachts on display reflected the breadth of the industry. Fraser presented ORION ONE, a 44-metre motor yacht built by Turkish shipyard Orion Yachts, while Sunreef exhibited its 60 Power catamaran. Numarine, which Phoenix officially represents in the GCC, also showcased SUNRISE 1, a 27XP explorer yacht. It was encouraging to see such a broad representation of yacht builders and their capabilities.
Valuable connections, despite the weather
Despite periods of rain, visitors continued exploring the yachts and engaging with exhibitors. The strong presence of brokers, suppliers and industry professionals made the show particularly worthwhile for exchanging market insights and developing relationships. It was also encouraging to see how well Phoenix was already recognised among industry colleagues.
A useful platform to present ONYX
Phoenix exhibited ONYX, a 16.03-metre WINDY SR52 Blackbird built in 2021. Her distinctive design, open deck arrangement and high-performance capabilities provided a good starting point for conversations with visitors and brokers. The exhibition allowed us to introduce this specialised chase boat to new contacts and engage with prospective buyers.
Turkey’s yacht and boat manufacturing industry has continued to impress the international market with its development over the years. It was good to see the same level of commitment reflected in the country’s boat shows. For an event in only its second edition, Bodrum has established a promising foundation. Based on this year’s experience, we are considering maintaining a Phoenix presence in 2027.
